Configure: Custom GIS

The Configure: Custom GIS tab enables you to view and edit existing company locations, create new company locations, and upload a custom map layer. A Custom Map Layer uses the KML standard to draw additional geographic data such as icons, labels, and ground overlays. See the Google Maps KML documentation for detailed instructions.

You can create company locations to save important or commonly-used addresses. These addresses can be used as a point around which to find devices (see Find Proximity to in 'Map' tab). Company locations are marked with an icon on the maps which cover an area containing the company location. When creating the company location you can choose from a list of icons provided by No such variable: No variable application defined. to mark the location on No such variable: No variable application defined. maps.

Company Locations

The 'Locations' table lists all the company locations created for your No such variable: No variable application defined. account, showing their name, the symbol used to mark the location on No such variable: No variable application defined. maps and any location groups the location may be associated with.

Company Locations can be organised into groups to help you better manage them. The group names listed for each location identify which groups the location has been added to. Click on a group name to open the group in a pop-up window where you can edit the group name and the locations assigned to it. To create a new group see the instructions below.

Show by Location Group / Name

Click 'Name' to arrange locations in the table in alphabetical order according to the company location's name. Click 'Location Group' to arrange the company locations according to the company location groups to which they belong. Company locations can belong to one group only.

When viewed by 'Location Group', each group list can be expanded by clicking the button to reveal the company locations that currently belong to the list(s). The button collapses the list(s).
